All students registered for credit classes at The University of Southern Mississippi are eligible to use Moffitt Health Center. Spouses of eligible students, who are not students themselves, and dependent children above the age of 12 may receive health care at Moffitt Health Center on a fee-for-service basis payable at time of visit. Services are also available for University faculty and staff on a fee-for-service basis.
All patients, including faculty and staff, will pay a $20 provider fee, regardless of insurance coverage. Additional fees apply for lab work, x-rays, injections, or medications, depending on the specific service or medication. These services are offered at a reduced rate compared to other clinics in the area. Moffitt Health Clinic and USM Pharmacy accept many insurance plans, so be sure to present your insurance card before paying to see if any fees are covered.
We will file your claim with any insurance carrier. However, please be aware that
we may not be in your network. We recommend checking with your insurance carrier to
confirm if Moffitt Health Center is in-network. Currently, we are unable to accept Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIPS.
