The 2025 application deadline is February 18.

The USM BSP Committee will choose the two Beckman Scholars following a two-step review process. Applicants who advance to the finalist stage will be notified of their status by March 1 and will be invited to participate in a mandatory workshop (to be scheduled during the workweek beginning March 3) to learn about program expectations and commitments and about the next step in their application.

The deadline for the finalists’ step 2 application: March 31. Following review of the application materials, finalists will be invited to give a mandatory presentation of their proposed research project to the USM BSP Committee by April 11.

The two Beckman Scholar/Mentor Pairs will be chosen by April 14. Summer 2025 funds will be released in June.
