Hub City Transit – Gold Route

USM and the City of Hattiesburg have partnered to add a Hub City Transit route that covers USM’s Hattiesburg campus and surrounding areas. All active students, faculty, and staff can ride for free with a valid university ID card. Without an active ID, regular fares on the Hub City Transit system are only 50-cents.

Students can take advantage of the perimeter Open Zone parking lots and ride to the heart of campus. As an additional benefit, there are transfer points along the Gold Route where you can connect to other lines of the Hub City Transit system, creating improved transit access all over the City of Hattiesburg.

Schedule

The Gold Route will operate Monday through Friday, 7:30 am until 6:30 pm, except on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The Gold Route may also run an abbreviated schedule during extended university break periods. HCT will make efforts to give advance notice of schedule changes through in-bus signage and social media posts.

Routes

The bus starts from the Hillcrest parking lot and stopping at set points all across campus (see map below). *Portions of the route are subject to change based on construction or other road closures.
