The Ombud's Bio

Andrew P. Haley is The University of Southern Mississippi’s ombud.  He reports to the University President and assists the university in living up to its values and policies.

Andrew is a historian and an associate professor in the School of Humanities and has more than twenty years of service to universities. He is the recipient of a 2001 K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award from the American Association of Colleges and Universities and an “Excellence in Service Award” from The University of Southern Mississippi.  He has completed training from the Association of College and University Educators in “Inclusive Teaching” and has completed the International Ombuds Association’s Foundations course.
