Mississippi Statistical Analysis Center
The Mississippi Statistical Analysis Center was created by executive order of Governor Ronnie Musgrove in October of 2000. The mission of the MS-SAC is to provide sound statistical information in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s criminal justice system.
Southern Regional Public Safety Institute
The Southern Regional Public Safety Institute is Mississippi's foremost Community-Oriented Policing academy offering up-to-date, quality training for today's police officer while maintaining officer safety as the #1 priority. Established in 1987, SRPSI reports directly to USM and is located on Camp Shelby, a premiere Joint Forces Training Center, located south of Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Institute for Advanced Analytics and Security (IAAS) is dedicated to the design
and application of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced statistical
analysis to security issues facing our country and the world today. We explore new
applications of existing technologies and develop our own approaches to solving complex
problems within the context of security and in related areas. Our research portfolio
is rapidly expanding as we seek to identify new areas where advanced analytics can
help better secure our community, state, and nation.
The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security is established at The University of Southern Mississippi under the auspices of the Vice President of Research. The NCS4 is partially underwritten by grants from the United States Department of Homeland Security and enterprise functions with the ambitious mission of supporting the advancement of sports safety and security in the United States and throughout the world.
