Sophomore September is back for 2023 and we’re excited to have four great events that
will benefit you as you begin your second year at USM. All events are free for students
and free T-shirts will be given away while supplies last!
Sophomore September Kick-Off
Thursday, September 7
4-6 p.m | Centennial Green (Rain Location: Union Room B)
Join other sophomores as we celebrate the start of year two at Southern Miss! Join us for free food, music, games and giveaways and learn more about all that The Center for Student Success has to offer to sophomores! Sophomore T-shirts and stickers will be given away to the first 50 sophomores in attendance.
Library Escape Room
Wednesday, September 13
5-8 p.m. | Cook Library 206Z (Top of the stairs to the left)
Get familiar with everything you need to know about the USM library in this escape room experience! No need to come with a team, we'll pair you into groups upon arrival. Prizes are up for grabs to the winning groups!
Explore Your Skills with Career Services
Thursday, September 21
5-6 p.m. | Union Room B
Learn about the soft skills you need to find a part-time job or internship with Career Services in this hour long workshop. Dinner will be provided at the end of the session!
Ask an Eagle Student Panel
Tuesday, September 26
12:30-1:30 p.m. | The Hub/LSI Office
Learn from the experiences of other Southern Miss student leaders at this Q&A student panel! You'll hear more about how they overcame any challenges they met in their sophomore year and went on to be successful Southern Miss students.
