CITI Training Requirements
Page Content
Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification is required for all USM investigators. CITI certification indicates that the investigator is trained in research ethics, regulatory oversight, and the responsible conduct of research. All USM investigators submitting an IRB application must complete the Human Subjects Research course and the Common Course. Each course takes 60-90 minutes to complete.
When applying for IRB review, all USM investigators must have current (active) CITI certifications. USM faculty, staff, and students must register and complete the required courses at CITI. When registering with the CITI Program your USM assigned email address must be used for both the user profile and the member information.
