Graduate Student Handbook
Midday with polymer engineers is an online professional development lunch and learn style series with special guests from USM, industry, and government interacting with our students. The series is open to all polymer science and polymer science and engineering students. Contact Dr. Heather Broadhead for information regarding upcoming dates and access to the online meeting.
The Polymer Science and Engineering Tutorial Center is a free service available to any USM polymer science or polymer science and engineering student who wants assistance with polymer science, polymer science and engineering, or related courses. The center offers individual tutoring for organic chemistry, physical chemistry, physics, and mathematics. If you encounter a building problem during the evenings and weekends that requires action before normal business hours, the following steps should be taken.
Attempt to contact Charles "Chuck" Collen, facilities coordinator, or other faculty/staff
members.
If no one is available, or there is an immediate need (i.e., burst pipe) call the
campus safety non-emergency number (601) 266-4986. They will contact an on-call physical
plant representative.
Inform Chuck of the situation at the first available opportunity.
Safety
For questions regarding safety in the Thames Polymer Science Research Center, including personal safety and safety procedures for equipment and instrumentation, contact Dr. William Jarrett.
