The Ocean Engineering program is grateful to have been awarded funding from the Mississippi
Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors for the purchase of a
Tormach 1100MX milling machine.
The machine will allow the program to train students on modern manufacturing equipment
and will greatly enhance the newly formed Robotics team by enabling them to manufacture
parts for their robot.
The Ocean Engineering program is now seeking further funding to equip the machine with an automatic tool changer and a fourth axis to enhance the capability of the mill.
