Southern Miss Program Inventory Review

Thu, 12/05/2024 - 09:25am

The University of Southern Mississippi has completed Phase I of its 2024-25 Program Inventory Review.

“The 2024-25 review process was completed in response to Dr. Paul’s charge to review low enrollment programs, identify resources for faculty salary increases and invest in high opportunity growth areas for the institution,” said Dr. Lance Nail, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “This process resulted in excellent solutions to combine and revitalize degree plans. I am grateful for the faculty, staff, deans, and directors who put forth great effort during this phase to exemplify the continuous improvement efforts of a university committed to sustainable academic excellence.”

The Program Inventory Review was first introduced at the university in 2018 and is an on-going effort to enhance program performance while identifying efficiencies at the institution.

“I remain ever committed to increasing enrollment, growing into our full potential in research and creating graduates who truly are ready for life,” said University President Dr. Joseph S. Paul. “Evaluating our academic programs will be an ongoing effort, as we work toward a salary increase program and invest in new programs to meet the needs of our state, region and nation – with special attention toward programs that also can spark additional enrollment growth. At Southern Miss, we are taking charge of our future and creating a uniquely positioned, distinctive public research university of which we can all be proud.”
