Senior Impact Fellow

The University of Cambridge’s Centre for Applied Research on Human Trafficking (CCARHT) has appointed Dr. Kimberly Hogan, assistant professor in The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Social Work, as a senior impact faculty fellow.

“Congratulations to Dr. Hogan on this prestigious international honor! This recognition is a testament to her remarkable commitment and achievements in the field of human trafficking,” said Dr. Joohee Lee, interim director of the School of Social Work. “I look forward to seeing Dr. Hogan and the Center for Human Trafficking Research and Training (CHRT) at USM move forward, enhancing collaborative efforts with international colleagues and reaching new heights together.”

CCARHT

CCARHT is at the forefront of delivering contextualized, evidence-based strategies for organizations to address human trafficking. What began as a small, virtual network of academics, social entrepreneurs, law enforcement personnel, nonprofit organizations and political lobbyists across Europe has grown into an international community of academics, professionals and politicians who are passionate about seeing applied research address the complex challenges of human trafficking.

“Cambridge’s Centre brings together faculty from across the globe, and I’m excited about the opportunities this affiliation presents for our human trafficking research agenda and the victims/survivors we serve in the Gulf South,” said Dr. Hogan. “I look forward to traveling to Cambridge, England in December to present and connect with their faculty and students. This experience will open so many new doors as we continue working to scale our USM CHRT efforts.”

In addition to teaching in the USM School of Social Work, Dr. Hogan also directs the University’s Center for Human Trafficking Research and Training (CHRT), advises the Coalition Against Human Trafficking (CAHT) student organization and serves as the principal investigator for “SOARing in Mississippi,” a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
