Game Day Reminders
Tue, 11/05/2024 - 03:21pm
The University of Southern Mississippi remains committed to fostering a fun, safe and family-friendly tailgating atmosphere for students, alumni and fans. Members of the Southern Miss community are reminded of the following game day expectations:
- Amplified music in tailgating areas should be at a reasonable volume and appropriate for the general public. No live music or DJs, except those provided by the University, are allowed on campus.
- Use of alcoholic beverages must not violate state and local laws. Drinking games are prohibited.
- The University of Southern Mississippi is a tobacco-free and vape-free campus. The use of controlled and illegal substance violates state law and campus regulations.
- Persons engaging in public indecency, disorderly conduct, lewd behavior, violations of state and/or federal law, and violations of University policies may result in the loss of tailgating privileges, criminal prosecution and, if applicable, disciplinary action through the Dean of Students office.
The Southern Miss community can also expect to see an increase in University and security officials to support the efforts of the University Police Department. Additionally, Southern Miss will review all game day procedures before the start of the 2025 football season.
