DuBard School Celebrates 10th Anniversary Speakeasy Featuring Madewood Street Music

DuBard School is thrilled to announce the 10th anniversary of its highly anticipated Speakeasy event, set to take place on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024. This year’s celebration promises to be a night to remember, featuring the renowned Madewood Street Music, known for its vibrant performances and captivating energy.
The event will be held at The Bottling Company in downtown Hattiesburg, with the venue being transformed into a dazzling speakeasy reminiscent of the roaring '20s. Guests are invited to dress in their finest vintage attire and immerse themselves in an evening of live music, dancing and unforgettable entertainment.
“Celebrating 10 years of the DuBard School Speakeasy is a significant milestone for us,” said Dr. Alison Webster, interim Director of DuBard School. “This event showcases our commitment to providing a unique and engaging experience for the community and supports the important work we do at the school.”
The evening will include a variety of attractions and all proceeds from the event will benefit the DuBard School’s mission of serving children with communication disorders through innovative and effective educational programs.
About the DuBard School for Language Disorders
DuBard School for Language Disorders was established in 1962 and is housed within the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences clinical division of the School of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Southern Miss. The school serves children with severe language/speech disorders, including the written language disorder of dyslexia and/or hearing impairments. DuBard School provides guidance and counseling for parents and families of the children and serves as a practicum site for university students majoring in speech-language pathology, audiology, or deaf education and dyslexia therapy. DuBard School for Language Disorders is also a United Way of Southeast Mississippi partner agency.
