The School of Leadership, part of The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) College of Business and Economic Development, will host a Southern Miss Cruisin’ event on Monday, Oct. 7 from 3-5 p.m., during the Long Beach activities of Cruisin’ the Coast.
“This is our third year hosting the event, and it continues to be bigger and better,” said Dr. Bradley (Brad) Winton, coordinator of the event. “We will have local car clubs participating and parking on the South Lawn of the University’s Gulf Park campus overlooking Highway 90 and the Gulf. We will have tents, a bounce castle, music, games, drinks, and snacks – and maybe the best vantage point on the Coast to watch all those beautiful cars pass by.”
The event is open to the public, including all members of the Southern Miss community.
People bringing antique cars or hot rods should follow the direction of organizers to park on the South Lawn, while spectators may park in the Lloyd Hall parking lot.
Dr. Jacob Breland, director of the School of Leadership, understands the importance of this event. “Cruisin’ the Coast is the largest event of its type in the South,” he said. “It is a great economic generator for the region and a chance for us to show off our beautiful campus. We are thrilled to join in the party, and I can’t wait to see all those classic cars on the Southern Miss campus!”
The School of Leadership, housed within the College of Business and Economic Development at The University of Southern Mississippi, operates on USM’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. Its undergraduate degree programs include Accounting, Applied Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering Technology, and Industrial Engineering Technology (Logistics).
