The School of Leadership at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) recently announced the list of student award winners for 2023. Members of the school’s faculty and staff were also recognized with several awards.
The awards were presented at the Gulf Coast Awards ceremony on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach and at the College of Business and Economic Development Awards ceremony in Hattiesburg, both in late April.
Dr. Heather Annulis, director of the School of Leadership, lauded the caliber of students in all of the school’s programs, most notably their Human Capital Development doctoral program.
“Our students’ determination to succeed in our programs is an inspiration,” said Dr. Annulis. “In spite of having full-time jobs, spouses, children, and busy lives, the students we’re recognizing go well beyond what is expected. They will no doubt continue to excel – that’s just who they are.” She continued, “Our faculty are very proud of each of the award recipients.”
Dr. Annulis said that she is not surprised by the numerous awards bestowed upon the faculty and staff from the School of Leadership. “The School of Leadership faculty and staff is like a family. We collaborate, champion each other, share successes, and offer support to those who need it. I wish we could present awards to all of them – but those honored certainly have earned the recognition and praise.”
