USM Committee on Services and Resources for Women Donates Books to Hattiesburg Elementary School for annual Marjorie Spruill Book Drive

Dr. Kate Greene, left, professor of political science at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM), presents Hattiesburg’s Grace Christian Elementary School Librarian Rashida Marshall with 65 books collected through the 2023 Marjorie Spruill Book Drive, sponsored by the USM Committee on Services and Resources for Women (CSRW). The book drive is named in honor of former USM professor of history Dr. Marjorie Spruill.
The USM CSRW is a group of USM faculty, staff, and students committed to serving women both within the university and the communities it serves by identifying needs, promoting resources to meet those needs, and acting as a catalyst for improving the status and lives of women through education, programming, and networking.
