Campus Recreation at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) is offering members of the Hattiesburg campus and surrounding communities and a new option for getting fit.
F45 Training Studio, operating separately in the USM Payne Center, offers an affordable option for fitness and wellness. Originally launched in Australia before branching out to the United States, F45 is one of the largest growing fitness franchises in the world, and the decision to bring it to USM came in response to the need for an affordable and convenient workout experience.
The F45 Studio offers 45-minute group classes that include a blend of H.I.I.T., functional and circuit training style workouts. Features of this popular fitness franchise include access to more than 4,000 exercises, during which participants never repeat the same workout twice. In-person trainer support with personalized motivation and exercise modifications are also provided. With the use of industry-leading technology, participants can follow along to exercises demonstrated on multiple TV screens, with prompts for rest periods or equipment changes.
F45 is COVID-19 friendly, offering socially distant stations during all sessions, with participants using individualized, sanitized workout equipment to promote a germ-free environment.
Classes are offered multiple times a day, seven days a week. Memberships are available for Southern Miss faculty, staff, students and Hattiesburg-area residents, with a payroll deduction option available for faculty and staff. Interested participants have the opportunity to try F45 for free twice before joining, using promo code 2FREE.
