Bernstein Op/Ed on Climate Change Published

Dr. Diana Bernstein, an assistant research professor in The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Division of Marine Sciences, recently had an op-ed piece published in The Progressive titled “We Must Act Now On Climate Change” which can be found at We Must Act Now on Climate Change - Progressive.org. The piece focuses on the impact climate change is having on our planet, including recent severe weather events in Mississippi and across the region, as well as legislation the U.S. Congress is considering to address the situation.

A climate scientist, Dr. Bernstein completed her Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences at the Hebrew University and UCLA in 2014. She has been a postdoc at Cornell University and at the Large Lakes Observatory at the University of Minnesota Duluth. At USM, she teaches classes on climate change. Her work has been featured in Scientific American, Nature Highlights, Popular Science, Bustle, and other outlets.
