John Duffy graduated from Long Beach High School in 1971. He then attended Southern Miss and graduated with a BS in radio-television-film in 1975. He was awarded a graduate fellowship the following year but moved to Hollywood after winning the American Cinema Editor’s Student Editing Award in 1977. Mr. Duffy began his Hollywood career as a sound editor and in 1987 he became a supervising picture editor on the CBS Network Television series “Tour of Duty.” Nominated for two Emmy’s, four ACE Awards, one Cable ACE and four MPSE Golden Reels during his 30 year career, Mr. Duffy had accumulated more than 85 screen credits at the time of his induction into the MCJ Hall of Fame in 2008.
