Hank Price is president and general manager of the NBC affiliate in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is also the senior director of Northwestern University’s Media Management Center in Chicago. Prior to joining WII and Northwestern in 2000, he spent four years as vice-president and general manager of WBBM-TV, the CBS-owned television station in Chicago. During that time, he was profiled as a “Fifth Estater” by Broadcasting and Cable Magazine for innovative leadership in local news. Before WBBM, Price spent twelve years with the Gannett Company in a variety of management positions, including president and general manager of KARE-TV in Minneapolis, where he was awarded a Gannett Excellence in Management Award. A native of Gulfport, Price worked his way through the University of Southern Mississippi with jobs in small radio stations, including serving as the general manager of WUSM, the college radio station. IN 2010, he was given the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Distinguished Service Award for outstanding Contributions to Broadcasting and was inducted into the MCJ Hall of Fame. He is a member of the School of Mass Communication and Journalism Advisory Board.
