Natalie Allen

Natalie Allen, who graduated from Southern Miss in 1984, has been a broadcast journalist for 23 years at the local and national level working as an award-winning correspondent, news anchor, producer, writer, and editor.  As a correspondent with NBC News, she appeared on the network’s major news venues including “The Today Show” and MSNBC.  In her nine years with CNN, Ms. Allen anchored live newscasts from two to five hours daily, including “CNN Today,”  “Early Edition,” “CNN and Company,” “Inside Politics” and “Prime News.”  Prior to joining CNN, Ms. Allen reported and co-anchored for WFTV in Orlando, Florida, winning a regional Emmy Award and Edward R. Murrow Award in the process.  She began her major-market career as a reporter and anchor at WREG-TV in her hometown of Memphis, after a year working at KFSM-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  At the time of her induction into the MCJ Hall of Fame in 2007, she had just begun to work at a new job as anchor and reporter on The Weather Channel’s “Forecast Earth” a new program about the climate and environment.
