Graduate Certificate in Archives and Special Collections- How to Apply
Page Content
To apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Archives and Special Collections program, applicants must pay the required application fee ($60, as of Fall 2017) and submit their application materials using the Graduate School’s online application.
Application materials include:
- a completed application form (completed via the online portal);
- a resume or CV;
- official transcripts; and
- a 750-1,000 word “Statement of Purpose” which outlines the applicant’s interest in a career in archives and special collections.
Note that while the Admissions Committee will consider all application materials when making their decision, applicants require a GPA of 2.75-4.0 GPA on the last 60 hrs for a regular admit status. Successful applicants with a GPA lower than 2.75 will be given a conditional admit status.
SLIS reviews applications on a continuous basis and accepts new students in the fall, spring, and summer terms. Applicants are nevertheless encouraged to submit their applications no later than one month before they wish to begin the program.
