Service Description
Southern Miss offers visitors a service to get connected to the wireless network.
- The USM Public network is made available at no charge to visitors who need temporary Internet access to improve their Southern Miss visit. This service is intended for websites and functions such as e-mail, Southern Miss' website and local restaurant searches. To connect to the USM Public network, retrieve the list of available networks and choose "USM Public." The USM Public network has limited access and speed. Access is available in these areas:
Hattiesburg Campus
Cook Library
International Center
Kennard-Washington Hall
McLemore Hall
Ogletree Alumni House
Performance Arts Center/Marsh Hall
Thad Cochran Center
Theatre of Arts and Dance
Trent Lott National Center
Gulf Park Campus
Gulf Coast Research Laboratory
Cedar Point Campus
Availability
The USM Public Network is available 24/7 except for scheduled maintenance periods.
Please note that wireless services will work on campus only.
