Library Access
Cook Library provides access to 148 internet-connected computers. Those computers are accessible to faculty, staff and students. View a list of computers available for use on any campus. They will remain available as long as the library is open. You will have to use your USM ID card to access the building and your CampusID credentials to log in to the computers. Visit the Library's website for updates and schedule.
Public WiFi Hotspots
- Hattiesburg: At the present time, all Xfinity WiFi Public Hotspots are now open to everyone on the “xfinitywifi” SSID. For more information, visit http://wifi.xfinity.com/.

Internet Essentials
Internet Essentials from Comcast has increased speeds for all customers - no action is required. In addition, new customers will receive two months of free service. AT&T Access
AT&T’s Access plan is offering 2-months of free services to qualified customers. This
is primarily for households participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP). View Information regarding this program and application for access.
USM Public WiFi
Guests on any campus may use the USM Public network at no charge. View instructions for how to connect to USM Public.
Please note that while the University is at code orange, most buildings will be closed to the public. However, there are several outdoor areas that provide USM Public WiFi coverage (View Hattiesburg coverage map or Gulf Park coverage map).
