IMPORTANT: Before using this Net Price Calculator, please understand the following:

The Net Price Calculator is a tool that students can use to estimate their "net price" to attend Southern Miss.

The "net price" is the difference between the "sticker price" (full cost) to attend Southern Miss minus any grant and scholarship aid for which the student may be eligible.  Sticker price includes direct charges (tuition and fees, room and board) and indirect costs (book and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.

• Results are based on your estimated cost of attendance. Cost of attendance encompasses more than just tuition; it presents an estimated scenario that also takes into account your basic living expenses.

• Results are calculated using the previous academic year’s cost of attendance and financial aid availability. Cost of attendance and financial aid availability change from year to year.  Not all students receive financial aid.  In the previous academic year, 54% of our full-time students enrolling in college for the first time received grant/scholarship aid.

• This is an estimate tool for first-time, full-time, undergraduate students only. If you intend to be a part-time undergraduate or a full/part-time graduate student, please view your various estimated costs of attendance here.

• Results are not binding. This is a tool for estimate purposes only and is in no way binding on the Secretary of Education, The University of Southern Mississippi, or the State of Mississippi.  Students seeking financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for and receive an actual financial aid award that may include grants, loans, and/or work-study.

• Results are a rough approximation of financial aid (and even then, only if accurate data is entered into the calculator).The estimate provided is not an actual award of financial aid or a final net price.  Not all students will qualify for all of the aid that the calculator indicates may be available.  Families who have high incomes or significant assets will not receive as accurate an estimate of financial aid eligibility.
