The purpose of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) is the advancement of construction technology through communication, education, research, and services. This organization serves the interests of architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, product manufacturers, and others in the construction and allied industries. Students majoring in Architectural Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, and Interior Design will benefit from membership.
- The USM Student Chapter of CSI is affiliated with the Mississippi Chapter of CSI located in Jackson, Mississippi. The Mississippi CSI chapter sponsors many activities and seminars for students on pertinent topics, as well as an annual Products Show, held in Jackson, MS.
- Dues are $30 per year. These dues include a monthly subscription to The Construction Specifier, an award-winning publication covering many aspects of the construction/design industry. The monthly meeting schedule can be seen here. Meetings are held at 12:20 p.m. in the Bobby Chain Technology Building, Room 116. State meetings in Jackson are on the first Thursday evening of each month.
