I have ambitions to transfer fully into the entertainment news industry.
How did receiving the Clyde Kennard scholarship impact you?
When I received the Clyde Kennard scholarship, I was so graciously humbled. I felt like the selection committee saw something in me and that gave me a stronger will to ensure I accomplished my goals of being a journalist.
I became the first college graduate in my immediate family and then I was hired at CNN, a top world news organization two years after graduating.
How do/did your academic pursuits or journey honor Kennard’s legacy?
My academic pursuits honored the Clyde Kennard legacy by serving as a role model to my family and community. I became the first college graduate in my immediate family and then I was hired at CNN, a top world news organization two years after graduating.
